Some progress. I'm thinking about focusing on the St John Passion of Macmillan, with particular contrast and interaction with Gubaidulina's and Part's St John passions. I think this will allow for more concrete theological material to work with (John's gospel; and Revelation for Gubaidulina), and the comparisons and contrasts (musically and theologically) are very interesting between the three composers.
